BRUCE ANDERSON
"...these works began under the pretense of just trying to gain a better understanding of the role of color in painting, free from the baggage of Drawing and figuration. They became, however, a personal reevaluation of the role of painting itself. As a radical departure from previous styles of work, these canvases forced on me the question of what is (a) painting? As simply colors on fabric meant to be hung on a wall, I realized a painting is just a curtain. But, rather than to conceal, they are meant to reveal."
